Frequently Asked Questions
1) Where exactly is the condo located?
Casita Encantada is in the Zona Romantica, on the fashionable south side of the Rio Cuale, across the street from Playa Los Muertos and just a five minute walk to the finest restaurants, bars and shopping in PV. Close enough for convenience, but far enough to be out of the noise of downtown. The condo is in the Brisas del Mar Hotel building, across Amapas street from the famous Blue Chairs Resort, Playa del Sol, and Tropicana Hotel. Click here for a map and directions.
2) Is housekeeping included?
Yes, our housekeeper will come before you arrive to clean and prepare the condo for you. She will also come to clean after your departure. If you are staying a week or more, she will come to clean again during the week.
3) Are there stairs?
The building is terraced up a hillside from sea level up the side of the hill like many buildings in the desirable south side of old town, so it has one entrance on Amapas at beach level and another (lobby) entrance on the Carretera a Mismaloya. Our condo is 2 1/2 flights of stairs down from the lobby, where the pool and restaurant/bar are located. To get to the the beach level, it's six flights of stairs from the lobby level. There are no elevators (yet - there is one being installed as we speak), but none of the stairs are enclosed, which makes for a nicer walk. It's a typical layout for PV.
4) How will I get the keys?
If you're arriving by plane, our property manager will send her driver to pick you up and bring you to the condo. The driver will have a set of keys for you. This service costs $35 USD, slightly more than a regular taxi (about $25 USD). If you're not arriving by plane or this won't work for some other reason, we'll make alternate plans to have the key available at the front desk for you.
5) Do you have an Internet connection?
Yes, we have high-speed cable internet. We also have a wireless network set up if you bring your own wi-fi enabled laptop. There is no computer in the unit.
6) Do you have a hairdryer or iron?
No, we don't have either a hairdryer or iron. PV is a casual place - be wrinkled!
7) Sounds great! How do I pay and reserve?
First, check the calendar at http://vrbo.com/76403. If your dates are available, click on the "Click to Send Email" button to submit your reservation request. Payment terms are as follows:
* Payment via Paypal or wire transfer. Most major credit cards accepted via Paypal. * Non-refundable deposit in the amount of 50% of the total rental expense reserves the condo * Remaining 50% due 30 days prior to check-in date. If reserving the condo less than 30 days from now, full payment is due immediately.
8) I've never used Paypal before, how do I use it?
Go to www.paypal.com and click the "Send Money" tab at the top of the screen. Click the "Sign Up Now" button, which will guide you through the sign-up process. When it will ask you who you want to pay, enter scottsbrooks@yahoo.com. I'll send you a confirmation that I've received your payment ASAP.
9) Do you have any other recommendations for things to see, do, and eat in Puerto Vallarta?
